Sea School is the nation's first and only licensed preschool in an aquarium!   Our unique and hands on curriculum aims to instill a love of learning that each Sea Schooler will carry with them long after their preschool years.  Your child will be introduced to all areas of development, with activities that aim to focus on math, language and literacy, science and cognitive development.

The program serves as a first taste of what school will be like, but is also a great enrichment program for youngsters already enrolled in a preschool.  What better place to have children explore their natural curiosity than at an aquarium where live ocean creatures are living all around them?

Children will be offered a unique opportunity to get to know various ocean animals, the people who work with them, as well as learn about the science that goes into exploring the sea.

• Each class will have children using their imagination, interacting with peers, and participating in projects designed to develop a variety of skills.
• Parental input regarding the strengths and needs of their child will be an important element in designing a tailored learning experience for each child.
• Sea School takes place in a bright, stimulating classroom especially designed for preschool aged children.  The classroom includes a bathroom built for young children.
• Children have access to the Aquarium's new Sea School Green, a brand new outdoor learning space especially designed for preschool aged learners.  From gardening and composting to examining insects, Sea Schoolers can continue experiencing our "learn by doing" philosophy in the great outdoors.
• Parents receive access to a private Sea School blog where you can read about what the Sea Schoolers are working on in class. It's a wonderful way to help reinforce topics at home.

The three hour Sea School option includes all the amazing features of our two hour option plus:

• A choice of a healthy snack catered by Mystic Aquarium's award winning Ocean Blue Catering.
• Additional time for activities, lessons, and free time in the Sea School Green, our new eco-friendly outdoor learning space.

The Sea School school year is divided into four quarters, the beginning and end dates depend on the schedule in which your child participates:

1st Quarter: September 12/13 - November 9/10
2nd Quarter: November 14/15 - January 19/23
3rd Quarter: January 30/31 - March 28/29
4th Quarter: April 16/17 - June 7/11

2012-2013 School Year
1st Quarter: September 10/11 - November 7/8
2nd Quarter: November 12/13 - January 16/17
3rd Quarter: January 22/23- March 21/25
4th Quarter: March 26/27 - June 4/5

Monday and Wednesday Mornings: 9:00am-12:00pm
 Tuesday and Thursday Mornings: 9:00am-12:00pm

Cost per Sea School Quarter:
Members: $525; Non-members: $575

Two Hour Schedule and Cost Information

Monday and Wednesday Afternoons: 1:30-3:30pm
Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons: 1:30pm-3:30pm

Cost per Sea School Quarter:
Members: $375; Non-members: $425

*Full refunds are available for cancellations made prior to May 31st, 2012. Cancellations made after June 1st will result in a fee of 40% of your purchase.
